- Use:

- Particle_Gen was created to generate object files that are single vertex
- polygons when loaded into Lightwave 3D. These objects are in the form of
- random vertices scattered throughout a cube of space. These objects can
- be loaded into Lightwave and morphed into other "solid" objects. This gives
- the appearance of random particles forming into complex shapes.

- There are two ways to get the point count needed to create the particle object
- file:

- 1) Load your target object into Pixel 3D from Axiom Software and click
- on data. Write down the number of points in the object.

- 2) Load your target object into Lightwave 3D and read the vertex point
- count of the object.

- Next, use Particle_Gen to create your particle object. You will be prompted
- for a filename. Enter the name and path you want for your file. Then you
- will be prompted for a size. Size is used to make the object bigger if
- needed. I found, that 10m is the standard size, but if you want bigger just
- enter the size you want.

- Example:

- Enter the size ( 1 = 10m, 2 = 100m, 3 = 200m ): 1

- This will set the size to 10m. The next prompt will be for the number of
- vertices. Enter the point count of your target object. Next, you will be
- prompted for a color. I always use 28, for glossy light red. You can edit
- the object file later and make the vertices many different colors. See the
- color chart below.

- The program will write the file and you will be ready to load it into
- Lightwave. Load the particle and your target object into Lightwave.
- Set the object dissolve of the target object to 100%. Then create an
- envelope for the particle object that has a keyframe at frame 30 set to
- 100%. Make your solid object the target object. Now enter the layout
- screen, point your camera at the object and make preview. You will see
- small particles moving into the shape of the target object.

- Set the surface of the particle object to "luminance" and render your scene.
- Many tricks can be done using this method, experiment with different ideas,
- you will be surprised at the results.

- Here is one for the road. Instead of morphing to the solid object, set the
- solid object to morph to the particle object. Create your morph envelope to
- have a keyframe every 5 frames. On every other keyframe set the morph value
- to 3 and look what happens! This effect can be placed on flat planes to give
- them real fractal bumps. Make a car object look as though it has been in an
- accident. There are more tricks that I can't mention here. Play with this
- trick and enjoy.

- 14 = Yellow 30 = Glossy Yellow

- The colors defined as "not used" are not defined by Videoscape, however they
- will be assigned the colors I have entered next to them.
